100% Organic: Turmeric, Ginger, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Calendula

Herbal Benefits

Ginger: Ginger is antiviral and anti-inflammatory; it also protects and stimulates the circulatory system. Ginger's anti-spasmodic and anti-emetic properties help to alleviate nausea, motion sickness and morning sickness. Ginger also appears to reduce cholesterol and improve lipid metabolism, thereby helping to decrease the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes (Bode & Dong, 2011). Interestingly enough, Ginger has even been used to treat Radiation sickness;  compared to the leading drug for radiation sickness, Amifostine, the ginger compound was 150 times more powerful and had no side effects (Rao et al, 2011).

Calendula: May help cleanse the lymphatic system and improve circulation; keeping the lymphatic system clear is vital for a strong immune system. Calendula is anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial. Calendula may help promote wound healing and is very soothing to painful wounds. Calendula may help with eczema, acne, infections and protecting against sun damage.

Turmeric: The antioxidants in turmeric are believed to help neutralize inflammatory free radicals that can damage tissue and cause inflammation and pain. Pairing turmeric with black pepper has been found to enhance the bioavailability of the curcumin in turmeric by 2000%, which is why you will also find black pepper in our Alpenglow Elixir Mixer recipe. Curcumin has been studied extensively for its potential anticancer action, including its ability to inhibit cell growth and metastases. The consumption of turmeric is correlated epidemiologically with lower rates of cancer, including breast, prostate, lung, and colon cancers. Curcumin may also help protect against Alzheimer's disease, because it triggers a gene that codes antioxidant production which helps protect the brain from oxidative damage ( according to The George Mateljan Foundation).

Black Pepper: Black Pepper can promote appetite and support healthy digestion. Black Pepper can help to rejuvenate the respiratory system, counteracting congestion in the sinuses or lungs. Piperine, one of the main constituents in Black Pepper, has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Vanilla Matcha Mint. 100% Organic: Ceremonial Grade Matcha, Peppermint, Vanilla, Lemon Balm, Licorice Root.

Matcha contains up to 137x the EGCG which supports healthy metabolism. Energize without the “caffeine crash“, provide support for the endocrine system, help with adrenal exhaustion, and fortify the immune system.

What does it taste like? Derek, our founder, has this to say "Forest Dew Elixir Mixer tastes like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream." He's not wrong. There is a creamy, earthy, slightly sweet, vanilla, mint delight to this Elixir Mixer. Ceremonial Grade Matcha tastes much more smooth and less bitter than other, lower grade Matchas out there on the market. If you have had a bad experience with Matcha in the past, you may reconsider once giving Forest Dew a try. The licorice root provides a slight sweetness too, which along with the Vanilla, rounds out the earthiness of the Matcha. The hint of mint adds a cool and subtle nuance to the cup. Overall, Forest Dew is a smooth, slightly sweet and earthy Elixir Mixer.

What is the cost per serving? Depending on the size of bag, Elixir Mixers start at just $0.79 per serving and go to as little as $0.71 per serving! An extremely cost-effective, healthy and delicious part of your daily routine!
